Here is a list of common questions that our clients ask us. If you need more information don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Can I come by for a tour?

We want both pets and owners to be completely comfortable with our facility. For that reason, we invite and encourage you to visit our space and discover the many advantages we have to offer over other pet boarding facilities.

For your convenience and ours, we prefer to have customers come between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm (Monday to Saturday) and only require 1/2 hour notice that you are coming. If you need to come outside those times, please call us and we will figure something out that works for us both.

We prefer not to do tours on Sundays or Statutory Holidays as these are already short days with much to be accomplished.

Why is the door locked?

The door is always locked just in case a pets gets loose in the building and we don’t want an arriving customer to open the door and accidently let them out into an uncontained area.

Please knock loud or ring the doorbell to get our attention and we will be right with you.

What is required to make my first reservation for Boarding, Daycare, or Doggie Detailing?

You will need to call in the first time to set up your account in full. We will have some questions for you to answer and may also require credit card information that can be safely exchanged over the phone. The whole process takes about 10-12 minutes and then you will be able to make all future requests by email for your convenience.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

We accept reservations up to 6 months in advance counting from the month we are currently in. For example, anytime in January you can make a reservation as far away as June the same year.

What do I need to bring with my pet for overnight boarding or daycare?

For Boarding you are recommended to bring your pets own food so as not to upset diet…but we do have a healthy selection of food if you need to try something new or forgot to bring it with you. Your pet will be fed as close as possible to your regular feeding routine. We have dishes and water pails of all sizes so, unless you have a special feeder that must be used, there is no need to pack those. You may also bring clean bedding (3 foot wide or smaller dog beds), toys (tennis ball size or larger), bedtime treats, or anything you think might make their stay more comfortable.

For Daycare it is preferred that no food, other than maybe a single quick treat be sent as they may be sharing space with other guests and feeding may not be possible. They will have access to plenty of water all day!

How long does a pet grooming take?

For a quick nail trim or other small service, the usual length is about 15 minutes. However, full Bath & Brush and De-Shedding services that include washing, drying, nails, ears, and other services requested can extend to several hours. We’ll give you a time estimate when your pet is dropped off.

Do you sedate pets during grooming or boarding?

Absolutely not. At Riverside Resort: Pets on Vacation we are strictly against pet sedation. We may refuse service to aggressive pets and recommend a veterinary clinic, but we’ll never induce a sedated state through the use of medicines or any other method.

Are there pet boarding discounts available?

For longer stays of single pets or for multiple pets sharing suites, Riverside Resort: Pets on Vacation is happy to discount our regular prices. Check out our Pricing page for the current discounts or contact us directly for a custom quote.
